Euskararen Etxea, the House of the Basque Language, will serve as the host institution for several EMYA 2026 activities, including workshops, the “A Drink With” gathering, and guided visits. Euskararen Etxea is a dynamic cultural centre located in Bilbao’s San Inazio district and it is dedicated to the promotion, understanding, and dissemination of the Basque language and culture. Its mission aligns with EMYA’s commitment to inclusion, accessibility and cultural diversity, while offering an inspiring environment for dialogue and exchange.

The EMYA 2026 Conference and Awards Ceremony will take place at the Euskalduna Conference Centre, one of Bilbao’s most emblematic cultural and conference centres. Located in the heart of the city, the building is internationally recognised for its striking architecture and its role as a hub for performing arts, congresses and major institutional events. Conceived as a symbol of Bilbao’s transformation, Euskalduna stands as a landmark of the city’s successful urban and cultural reconversion, rising on the former shipyard grounds that once defined the area’s industrial identity. Its modern facilities and central location make it an ideal setting for welcoming the EMYA community to Bilbao.

The Euskal Museoa is located in the historic heart of Bilbao and is dedicated to preserving and sharing the cultural heritage of the Basque Country. Housed in a former 17th- century Jesuit building, the museum presents the history, archaeology and ethnography of the region. With more than a hundred years of history and recently renewed to project Basque culture internationally, it stands as the gateway through which Basque heritage opens itself to the world. As part of EMYA 2026, the museum will host special activities that highlight the deep cultural roots of Bizkaia and its communities.

An international icon of contemporary art and architecture, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao has played a transformative role in the cultural and urban regeneration of the city. Designed by Frank Gehry and opened in 1997, the museum is renowned for its groundbreaking exhibitions and its commitment to innovation in museum practice. A recipient of the European Museum of the Year Award in 2000, the Guggenheim stands as a benchmark for excellence in the museum field. EMYA 2026 will feature selected activities at the Guggenheim, offering participants the opportunity to experience one of the world’s most influential cultural institutions.
